TEACHING
Ilana Morgan engages students with experiential service learning projects to help them understand dance education as advocacy, as inclusive learning, and as civic engagement for diverse communities.

In 2019-2020 Ilana Morgan mentored 8 graduate students as they completed their culminating research papers in Dance Education.

Students in DNCE 4243: Children’s Dance teach a weekly creative movement class to children from a local elementary school, The KOAN School, on the TWU campus.

Ilana Morgan supervises and mentors between 4 to 9 student teachers per semester during their practicum in high school dance classrooms.

Students in the DNCE 4123: Dance and Public Practice course embark upon a service-learning project with Denton community seniors at the Pecan Place Apartments.

Ilana Morgan developed a new low-residency option for the MA in Dance resulting in an increase in graduate Dance applicants and a new cohort of students whose research focus is Dance Education.

Ilana Morgan taught dance to grades K-12 in the Carpinteria and Santa Barbara California public schools from 2000-2007.
